A 65 year old farmer, Kehinde Idowu, has been reportedly killed by persons suspected to be herdsmen in Ogbomoso area of Oyo State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident occurred on Sunday at Igbopupa in Yawota, near Alawusa in Oriire Local Government Area, following a dispute over grazing.

Sources said the attackers had demanded access to graze their cattle on the deceased’s cassava farm, a request he reportedly declined.
It was gathered that Idowu later went to inspect his farm at about 4:00 pm when he was allegedly attacked and inflicted with severe injuries.
He was rushed to a hospital in Ogbomoso for treatment but was later confirmed dead in the early hours of Monday.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing.
“Yes, they said Pa Kehinde Idowu sustained serious injury and was confirmed dead at the hospital today. Meanwhile, three persons have been arrested in connection with his murder, and the investigation is ongoing,” he said.
The incident has heightened concerns over recurring clashes between farmers and herders in parts of the state.
