The Police Command in Ogun State has arrested a man, Oluwadamilare Ewedemi, in the Ijebu Ode area over allegations of prolonged sexual abuse involving his daughter.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the 21 year old survivor, whose identity is being protected, reported the case to the Ifo Division of the command after allegedly enduring years of abuse.

According to her account, the incidents began in 2019 after she was moved from a motherless home in Ikeja to live with her father in Ijebu Ode.
She alleged that the abuse continued over several years and resulted in multiple pregnancies, which were reportedly terminated.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the survivor eventually escaped from the suspect’s residence and sought refuge in a church around Pakoto area before reporting the matter.
“On March 26, a 21 year old woman reported at Ifo Division that she had been subjected to abuse by her biological father,” he said.
He added that operatives acted on intelligence and arrested the suspect following the report.
Babaseyi noted that the suspect is currently in custody, while the case has been transferred to the Gender Desk for detailed investigation and prosecution.
Authorities assured that due process will be followed as investigations continue.
