Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of State of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has called on the Ogun State Government to support the federal government’s efforts to uplift primary healthcare centres across the state.
He made the appeal during his working visit to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, at the weekend.
Since the minister assumed office, he and the Coordinating Minister for Health, Mohammed Ali Pate, have been on a nationwide campaign to revamped the primary healthcare system.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Information in the Health Ministry, Patricia Deworitshe, Dr. Alausa advocated for unique support from Ogun State to facilitate the uplift of Primary Health care centres across the nook and crannies of the state, while federal government is optimistic about increase in budget allocation through Basic Health Programme to meet up with Global Standard.
The minister explained the federal government’s preparedness to support Ogun State in the area of healthcare delivery as one of the fundamental agendas of the present administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He assured Abiodun to finish all abandon Federal Government health projects.
Also, Dr. Alausa briefed the governor about federal government’s approval to increase enrollment of medical personnel into health institutions and fasttrack the Signing of Health Act bill for social welfare Parkage of health practitioners across the board.
In his remarks, Abiodun congratulated the minister for his desires to serve his fatherland after his meritorious service years in the United States with a good track record in the health sector.
The Ogun governor pledged his maximum support to the Minister by giving adequate attention to both federal & and state health facilities within the state to achieve optimal primary mandate.
However, he appealed to the federal government to establish more health facilities and equip the existing one with capable health and social workers.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to Health & Social Welfare of his people as the state is looking forward to getting more fund through federal Government monthly allocation in other to do more for the people to enjoy the dividends of democracy through health Social Insurance Programme.
