More than 100 residents were evacuated from a luxury high-rise in Buenos Aires after a fire spread through multiple floors, emergency services reported.
At least 40 people received treatment for smoke inhalation, while several others were hospitalized before firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The 50-story tower is situated in the upscale Puerto Madero neighbourhood.
Alberto Crescenti, head of Buenos Aires emergency services, told local media that the flames had reached as high as the 15th floor, with shattered glass falling from windows.
“Fortunately, the evacuation was swift, and no lives are at risk,” Crescenti assured.
Firefighter Christian Benitez confirmed to AFP that all residents were out of danger.

Eyewitness Ornella Gril, 30, recounted her experience: “I heard the fire alarm and rushed downstairs as quickly as possible.”
Among the evacuees was former footballer Mariano Pavone, who played for River Plate and Real Betis. “I saw the smoke and left with my son and dog,” he told Noticias Argentinas. “Luckily, my apartment was unharmed, but I’m concerned for my neighbours. Thankfully, it was just a scare.”
