- Scottish businessman Campbell Scott found murdered in Kenya after going missing from his hotel.
- His body was discovered in a sack, 60 miles from Nairobi, with hands and legs bound.
- Kenyan police arrest two suspects as investigation, with Interpol’s involvement, continues.
The body of Campbell Scott, a 58-year-old Scottish businessman, was discovered inside a sack by a Kenyan cattle herder, days after he went missing from his hotel in Nairobi.
Scott, a senior director at credit scoring firm Fico, arrived in the city’s affluent Westlands district on 15 February for a business trip. He was last seen the following night leaving a nightclub with an unidentified man.
Authorities later found his body in a forest 60 miles (96.5km) outside Nairobi, with his hands and legs bound with rope. Local police have since arrested a taxi driver and a nightclub waiter, who are believed to have been among the last people to see him alive.

Scott had been staying at the JW Marriott Hotel while attending a business conference. He was scheduled to meet colleagues for a presentation, but when he failed to return on 16 February, concerns grew. Unable to reach him, his colleagues reported his disappearance to the police, prompting an immediate search. Interpol later joined the investigation.
On Saturday, local authorities received a report that a cattle herder had found a body inside a sack. It was later identified as Scott. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Tuesday.
Scott’s murder has shocked the local community. The BBC’s Deputy Africa Editor, Anne Soy, noted the unusual nature of the crime, particularly because Scott was a recent visitor conducting legitimate business meetings.
“There are really no theories as to what could have happened. The employer has asked people not to speculate about any issues around his death,” she said.
Scott, originally from Dunfermline, Fife, studied at Woodmill High School and Kirkcaldy Technical College before working with several firms. He joined Fico in 2014, where he played a key role in expanding the company’s credit scoring services globally.

A spokeswoman for Fico expressed devastation over his death, calling Scott a leader in their international Scores business.
“He was instrumental in introducing Scores to new markets and growing our business with existing partnerships. We mourn his passing and will miss his humour and kindness,” she said, asking for privacy for his family and friends.
The UK Foreign Office confirmed they were in contact with Kenyan authorities and were supporting Scott’s family during this difficult time.
