French police shut down all train traffic to and from Paris Gare du Nord on Friday after an unexploded World War II bomb was discovered on the tracks leading to the station, train operators reported.
The device was found overnight during maintenance work near Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris, according to RER B.

As a precaution, all services, including Eurostar trains, were suspended while authorities worked to neutralise the bomb.
Eurostar confirmed that at least three scheduled departures were cancelled, while RER B announced that traffic would remain halted until at least 10:00 local time (09:00 GMT).

“Due to an object on the tracks near Paris Gare du Nord, we are expecting disruption to our services this morning,” Eurostar stated.
The company offered affected passengers the option to exchange their tickets free of charge for a later date or time, subject to availability.
