EKO HOT BLOG reports that Al-Mustapha made this declaration during a strategic engagement with party leaders and supporters in Minna, the capital of Niger State, on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, the retired army officer expressed deep concern over Nigeria’s current challenges, stating that he is committed to offering leadership built on integrity, courage, and a renewed vision for national revival.
“I am pained and deeply concerned about the current state of the nation. However, with the right direction and commitment, Nigeria can rise again. Though the road ahead may be rough, together we can rebuild the Nigeria we all deserve,” he said.
According to a statement from his campaign’s Director of News Media and ICT, Jubril Umar Sanda, the declaration forms part of a broader nationwide consultation aimed at mobilizing support ahead of the 2027 general elections. The statement affirmed Al-Mustapha’s preparedness to serve the nation with a clear plan for progress.
During his visit to Niger State, Al-Mustapha also travelled to Mokwa to sympathise with victims of a recent flood disaster that displaced over 200 residents and destroyed properties worth millions of naira. He called for urgent relief measures and long-term infrastructure planning to prevent similar disasters in the future.
Emphasizing the importance of unity, competence, and sustainable development, Al-Mustapha said Nigeria needs leaders who can confront its many challenges with practical solutions.

In his remarks, the SDP Chairman in Niger State, Alhaji Buhari Yakubu Yarima, welcomed the presidential hopeful’s declaration and praised his experience and readiness. He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects for the 2027 polls, asserting that the SDP, with credible candidates and a solid vision, would become a formidable political force.
