EKO HOT BLOG reports that Mark, a founding member of the PDP, announced his resignation in a statement dated June 27, 2025, which he personally signed.
In the statement, Mark said the persistent leadership crisis, widening divisions, and unresolved conflicts have rendered the PDP a mere shadow of its former self, exposing the once-powerful party to public ridicule and loss of relevance.
His resignation comes shortly after his appointment as an interim leader of the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC), a new political platform endorsed by key opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mark wrote, “I bring warm greetings to you and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otukpo Ward 1, and by extension, to the entire Benue State and Nigeria. I write to formally inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.”
He emphasized his long-standing loyalty to the PDP, recalling how he remained committed to the party even after its loss in the 2015 presidential election, when many senior members defected.
“I worked tirelessly to rebuild, reconcile, and reposition the PDP, efforts which, without sounding immodest, helped restore the party’s national relevance,” Mark stated.
However, he admitted that recent developments have made it impossible for him to continue, describing the party as one now plagued by deep divisions and leadership failure.

“After wide consultations with my family, friends, and political associates, I have resolved to join the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement in Nigeria as part of efforts to rescue the nation and safeguard our democracy,” he added.
