Eko Hot Blog gathered that the petition alleges that Ojah was ambushed and brutally attacked by suspected cultists in Cross River State.
It was gathered that the petition, dated July 5, 2024, and obtained on Friday, July 11, 2025, accuses five suspects of a coordinated attack that left the victim critically injured and hospitalised.

The suspects, named as Mr Godknows Aho Amatey, Mr Sunday Aho Amatey, Mr Ikenga Adem Erim, Mr Annovu Sunday Aho, and Mr Amatey Otei Amatey, face allegations of attempted murder, conspiracy, and the infliction of grievous bodily harm.
According to the petition, the attack was not random but premeditated. On July 2, 2024, three of the suspects allegedly met at Mr Godknows Aho Amatey’s residence to finalise plans.
The following day, Mr Sunday Amatey reportedly lured the unsuspecting victim by offering him a ride and dropping him off where the fourth suspect, Mr Ikenga Adem Erim, lay in ambush.
“Mr Ikenga Adem Erim ambushed and shot our client in the head at close range before hacking him multiple times with a machete,” Aboh stated in the petition. The assault reportedly caused severe injuries to the victim’s head, face, neck, arms, and body, leaving him for dead.
The lawyer further alleged that the suspects have obstructed justice. One of them, Godknows, an employee of the Accountant General’s office, allegedly boasted about using his wealth to shield the attackers, claiming he could settle any matter in court.
Similarly, Sunday was said to have hidden Erim from authorities and bragged that the police and judiciary could be bought.

“Our client is still in a critical condition at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital,” Aboh revealed, expressing concern that justice has not yet been served, despite the severity of the attack.
A year after the incident, Information made available to Eko Hot Blog revealed that the police have not made any arrests. “The victim is alive but justice is being stalled. The accused are using their connections to suppress the case,” one insider said. A court hearing is now scheduled for July 15, 2025.
Barrister Aboh urged the Inspector-General to order an urgent and thorough investigation, arrest the suspects, and ensure they face prosecution without interference.
