EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ganduje, who had earlier resigned from his position as APC chairman before the President’s visit, made the clarification through a statement issued on Saturday by his former Chief of Staff, Malam Muhammad Garba.
Garba dismissed rumours suggesting that Ganduje was either deliberately excluded from the visit or suffering from ill health, stressing that the trip to London had been scheduled before Tinubu’s Kano visit was announced.
“The visit by President Tinubu to condole with the family of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata was communicated to Dr Ganduje. However, despite frantic efforts to reschedule his flight and itinerary, logistics made it impossible for him to return on time,” Garba stated.
He added that Ganduje made every effort to adjust his plans but was ultimately unable to attend. Nevertheless, he maintained constant communication with key APC leaders in Kano, including Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin and State APC Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, to ensure a smooth coordination of the President’s visit.
On speculations of a strained relationship with Tinubu following his resignation, Garba firmly denied any friction, noting that Ganduje and President Tinubu maintain a longstanding bond rooted in mutual respect and political alignment.
He also reaffirmed the loyalty of the Kano APC to President Tinubu, assuring that the party remains fully united and committed to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Tinubu had visited Kano on Friday to pay condolence visits to the families of the late business mogul Alhaji Aminu Dantata and the late Islamic scholar Sheikh Nasiru Kabara.
