A 27-year-old man, Ubakpororo Kelvin, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly killing his babymama, Excel Ukeredi Peace, during a heated argument.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the tragic incident occurred on June 26, 2025, after Kelvin accused Excel of engaging in what he described as “hookup” activities, a slang term often linked to transactional relationships. The suspect had been on the run until his recent arrest.

In a video released by police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, Kelvin confessed that he and the deceased got into a fight after he found clothing and other signs he associated with her alleged lifestyle.
“She picked up a knife and I picked up a hammer,” he said. “I dragged her, took the knife, and then hit her three times with the hammer on her forehead.”

Kelvin said he was under the influence of 100mg of tramadol and loud (a potent strain of cannabis), which he claims affected his judgment during the altercation.
“I didn’t know she would die,” he added. “After realising what I did, I tried to jump from a storey building to die with her, but I survived.”
He also admitted to earning a living through farming and internet fraud, locally referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo.”
Police authorities say investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be charged in court once all procedures are complete.
