The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, has commended Miss Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State, for her remarkable victory as the World’s Best in English Language Skills at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Miss Nafisa, representing Nigeria through Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), triumphed over more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries including native English-speaking nations. Her win marks a historic achievement for Nigeria on the global academic stage.

In a statement jointly issued with the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suiwaba Sa’id Ahmed, Dr. Alausa described Nafisa’s success as a proud moment for the country and a testament to the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to transform the education sector through the Renewed Hope Agenda led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“This is more than just a personal achievement. It is a national milestone that showcases the potential of Nigerian students to compete and win globally,” said Dr. Alausa.

The Ministers praised Nafisa’s intelligence, discipline, and determination, highlighting that her accomplishment reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to producing globally competitive students through investment in quality education.
The Ministry also extended appreciation to Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, for his commitment to education reform and provision of learning resources, which have helped create an enabling environment for students to thrive.
Special recognition was given to Dr. Abbas Idris, the Yobe State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, for his dedication to strengthening schools and promoting academic excellence.
The contribution of NTIC staff, as well as the support of Nafisa’s parents and teachers, was acknowledged as crucial to her academic journey.
