EKO HOT BLOG reports that Atiku, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after prolonged internal disputes, was expected to pick up his ADC membership card in Jada, Adamawa State, during a ceremony organised by party officials. The event, initially slated for Wednesday, August 6, has now been postponed indefinitely without an official explanation from Atiku’s camp.
Adamawa ADC Chairman, Shehu Yohana, confirmed the delay, stating that Atiku told him the event had been moved to mid-August, though no specific date was given.

He added that the ceremony could be pushed to September, as Atiku is reportedly waiting for some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to defect to the ADC before proceeding.
A senior ADC figure disclosed that the party has been in discreet talks with Jonathan about joining its ranks for a potential presidential run in 2027. The source noted Jonathan’s cross-party appeal and hinted at a positive response from the former president. He added that Jonathan is unlikely to return to the PDP due to internal power struggles, particularly with Nyesom Wike’s strong influence in the party.
According to the party chieftain, coalition leaders have met Jonathan three times, with discussions focused on rescuing the country from economic challenges allegedly worsened by President Bola Tinubu’s policies.
When asked about the possibility of granting Jonathan an automatic presidential ticket, the ADC leader said the matter would be addressed when necessary.
ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi, when contacted, said, “ADC is open to everybody, and we look forward to having every Nigerian who is ready to rescue the country from this hardship.”
