In a show of firm leadership, Pastor William Kumuyi affirmed that he will not let anyone control him, including his wife. He said he continues to lead based on his convictions.
Kumuyi recalled how a church leader mentioned succession twice in a recent teaching. He reminded the congregation that throughout the Bible, God consistently chose successors, not people.
He expressed his pain over members’ apparent desire to see him leave. Pastor Kumuyi made it clear that he allows no one to control him.
The pastor then urged his church members and workers to stop trying to weaken his convictions, warning that such attempts only strengthen his resolve to keep teaching the truth.
Finally, following the controversy, he emphasized that God would choose a successor “when the time is right,” and that a “man after His own heart” would lead the church.
