- Buhari’s Death Won’t Affect Tinubu’s 2027 Chances – Adeyeye
- He dismissed claims that Buhari’s death would weaken Tinubu’s political prospects
- “Tinubu will win more votes in the north and elsewhere in 2027 than anytime”
A former Minister of State for Works, Dayo Adeyeye, has said the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari will not affect President Bola Tinubu’s chances of reelection in 2027.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Adeyeye stated that Tinubu would receive even more votes in the North despite Buhari’s passing.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos on Saturday, he dismissed claims that Buhari’s death would weaken Tinubu’s political prospects, describing such arguments as unfounded.
He maintained that Tinubu did not rely on Buhari’s popularity in the North to secure victory in the 2023 election.

Adeyeye said, “It’s not correct. In fact, Tinubu will win more votes in the north and elsewhere in 2027 than anytime ever in the history of the republic.
“Ninety percent of the CPC figures are with him (Tinubu), quote me anywhere. The leadership met about three or four weeks ago and said they are with Tinubu.”
