Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has made a big change to his government, letting go of a number of his commissioners and special advisers.
Eko Hot Blog reports that a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro, the governor immediately dissolved the State Executive Council.

The announcement directed all affected officials to hand over their duties to the most senior civil servant in their ministries. However, a few important officials were not part of this shake-up.
They include the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as the Commissioners for Health, Agriculture, Education, Works, and Trade. Directors-General who are also part of the Executive Council were also allowed to keep their jobs.
Governor Oyebanji thanked those who were let go for their service and wished them well in the future. The reason for the change was not explained, but it appears to be a move by the governor to reshape his team.
