He stressed that the former Anambra State governor remains committed to the Labour Party.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking on Sunday at the Oyo State Obidient Conference in Ibadan, themed “Going Forward 2027: A New Nigeria is Possible”, Yunusa assured party members and stakeholders that Obi’s political base has not shifted.
“For clarity, Mr Peter Obi is a member of the Labour Party. There are still some internal issues within the party, and INEC is yet to address them,” he stated.
Yunusa revealed that Obi intends to contest the 2027 presidential election and, if elected, will serve only one term focused on setting Nigeria on the path to progress.
“If elected, he will provide Nigeria with a single term of purposeful leadership. Most of our challenges can be resolved within a year if we prioritise human development, as he demonstrated during his time as Anambra State governor,” he said.
According to him, the single-term agenda is designed to “set the tone, restore hope, and hand over to a leadership class that understands service.”

The conference, held at the Empowerment Centre, Ring Road, drew party members, grassroots organisers, and political analysts from across Oyo State. Discussions centred on strategies for the 2027 elections and the Labour Party’s vision for a reformed Nigeria.
