According to sources, the 26-year-old student had gone to the clinic to abort her six-month pregnancy. While the procedure was carried out, the medical staff were unable to control the bleeding afterward, and she tragically bled to death.
It was reported that a police officer called to the clinic recorded the scene before the student’s body was taken to the mortuary of the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja.

The owner of the clinic has been arrested and is being held at the state CID in Lokoja for investigation.
When contacted, officials of Kogi State Polytechnic said they were unaware of the incident. The Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Uredo Omale, explained that the school had no knowledge of the matter because students are currently on holiday.
Efforts to reach the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Williams Ovye, for confirmation were unsuccessful as his line was not accessible.
