The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by its Chairman, Hon. Sewanu Odufowora, has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, to congratulate him on his emergence as Chairman of Conference 57 in Lagos State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Hon. Olowa warmly received the delegation and commended NULGE for its commitment to effective local governance.
He assured the union of his continuous support, stressing the importance of synergy between government and the civil workforce.
He said: “I deeply appreciate your solidarity and the role NULGE plays in keeping the machinery of local governance effective.
I a ssure you of my continued support, and I encourage members to remain exemplary representatives of the civil workforce.”
In his remarks, Comrade Odufowora highlighted pressing issues affecting the union, particularly the need for sustainable revenue generation improved welfare and infrastructure for NULGE members, and the challenge of redundancy in the workforce.

He said: “We must collectively address revenue generation, provide better infrastructure for NULGE officials, and resolve redundancy issues within the workforce.”
The meeting also had in attendance the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and a former NULGE executive, Alhaji Monsuru Oludaisi Kazeem, alongside other dignitaries.
