The lawmaker commended Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, which he described as a bold decision long avoided by previous administrations.
He said the “financial reengineering” launched with the “Subsidy Gone” proclamation on May 29, 2023, has already yielded positive results, including growth in the nation’s foreign reserves to over $40 billion, a drop in inflation, and an increase in Gross Domestic Product.
Ahmed also highlighted disbursement of N90 billion as student loans, a review of the minimum wage, and an increment in corps members’ allowance as further achievements of the current government.

“Between May 29, 2023 and now, you see a man well-prepared for that job; a courageous man. It takes courage to remove fuel subsidy,” he said.
The federal lawmaker further listed key infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, and rehabilitation of the Abuja-Kano dual carriageway as part of the administration’s developmental strides.
According to him, Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips are attracting respect for Nigeria globally and boosting foreign direct investment.
He dismissed criticisms of the president’s travels, insisting they were necessary for the nation’s economic repositioning.
Ahmed also declared that Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 was “assured,” noting that he would mobilise his constituents to secure a second term for the president.
The briefing also featured testimonies from APC leaders, community leaders, traditional rulers, market heads, and local government chairmen Abdulganiyu Obasa (Agege) and Abiodun Idowu (Orile Agege), who praised Ahmed’s constituency projects.
These included empowerment initiatives for youths, women and farmers, provision of boreholes and streetlights, educational scholarships, classroom blocks, skill acquisition programmes, food palliatives, and medical outreaches.
