The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast rainy and thundery conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the agency’s weather outlook, released on Sunday in Abuja, anticipates isolated thunderstorms and varying rainfall across the northern, central, and southern regions.

In the northern region, NiMet predicts a cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine on Monday, accompanied by light morning rains over parts of Adamawa and Taraba.
Isolated thunderstorms with light rains are expected later in the day over Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Bauchi, Adamawa, Zamfara, and Taraba.
The central region is expected to experience a cloudy atmosphere with occasional sunshine, with light morning rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, and Niger states. Moderate thunderstorms are forecast for the afternoon and evening.
For the southern region, cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine are expected, alongside isolated morning thunderstorms over Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom.

Thunderstorms with moderate rains are predicted later in the day, with possible flash floods in Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers.
NiMet has urged residents and authorities in flood-prone areas to activate emergency response plans and exercise caution during the rains. Drivers are advised to be careful on wet roads, farmers should avoid applying fertiliser and pesticides just before rainfall, and households should secure loose objects and disconnect electrical appliances. People are also warned to stay clear of tall trees to reduce the risk of injury from falling branches.
