Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has told Senate President Godswill Akpabio that he is not superior to her as a senator.
According to Eko Hot Blog, Natasha made this statement after her six-month suspension was lifted and her Senate office was unsealed. She said her suspension was unjust and criticized how she was treated during the period.

“Senator Akpabio is not more of a senator than I am, he is not the governor of this place and he treated me as if I was his servant or domestic staff in his house,” she said.
Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly, Natasha said despite being barred from her duties, she never stopped working for her constituents. She emphasized that the suspension and the barriers she faced did not dampen her resolve to represent Kogi Central with strength and dignity.
She described the period of suspension as a “survival ordeal,” involving road blockades, public smear campaigns, and attempts to silence her. Yet she said she remained focused on her legislative duties, even without access to her office or other privileges usually accorded to senate members.

Natasha blamed what she called dictatorial leadership in the Senate, saying it was unacceptable that a democratically elected lawmaker be treated like a subordinate or staffer.
She called for reforms to ensure respect and fairness among senators, regardless of rank or influence.
She also asserted that the rules or traditions inside the Senate must not override constitutional rights.
She insisted that no one, not even Senate leadership, should sideline a senator simply because of power or position.
With her office now officially reopened, she pledged to continue her work for her constituents, highlighting projects and interventions she had pursued during the suspension period.
She appealed for support not just from those who voted for her but from Nigerians who believe in justice and equal treatment under the law.
