The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three persons allegedly connected to a mob attack that led to the death of two men in Bunga Hamlet, Warji Local Government Area of the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.

According to the police, the incident happened on May 7, 2026, after officers received a distress call about a violent mob attack in Bunga Hamlet, Dagu Ward.
The victims, identified as Kabiru Idris, 30, and Ibrahim Samaila Danliti, 40, both from Gabanga Village in Warji LGA, were reportedly riding on a motorcycle when they were chased by a group of people accusing them of theft.
Habib explained that the mob pursued the two men from Ningi Local Government Area to Bunga Hamlet, where they were attacked and severely beaten.
“The victims were later rescued by police operatives and taken to General Hospital, Warji, but they were confirmed dead by a doctor,” he said.
Following investigations and intelligence gathering, police detectives arrested three suspects allegedly linked to the incident.

The suspects were identified as Samaila Turawa and Danbaba Haruna, both from Gwada, as well as Ubale Mai Kaji from Ningi.
Police said the suspects are currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, where they are assisting investigators, while efforts continue to track down other individuals involved in the attack.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the mob action and ordered a thorough investigation into the killings.
He stressed that no one has the right to take the law into their own hands or unlawfully end another person’s life.
The command added that calm has since returned to the area, with increased patrols and community engagement introduced to prevent further violence.
Police also assured residents that everyone connected to the incident would be identified and prosecuted according to the law.
