According to Ibrahim Hamza-Adamu, the committee chairman, explained that the supplementary budget was a result of an expected increase in revenue from the federation account. The new legislation brings the state’s total appropriation for 2025 to N756.3 billion.

“With additional N58,000,000,000 of the supplementary appropriation budget, the total appropriation for the year will now be N756,300,000,000 only,” Hamza-Adamu stated.
He also urged the Assembly to ensure effective oversight to guarantee the funds are used as intended.
The motion was unanimously adopted by the members present, with Deputy Speaker Sani Isiyaku presiding over the plenary.
The new approval adds to the original N689.3 billion Appropriation Bill for 2025, which was passed on December 31, 2024. That budget, titled the “Budget of Innovation and Transformation for Greater Jigawa,” included a breakdown of N90.7 billion for personnel costs, N70 billion for recurrent expenditure, and N537 billion for capital expenditure.
The lawmakers also separately approved N17 billion for the state’s 27 local government areas.
