President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday lauded Nigeria’s military and security agencies for their decisive role in restoring peace to communities once ravaged by terrorism and banditry in the North-East and North-West.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in his Independence Day broadcast, the President said the nation owed a debt of gratitude to soldiers and security operatives whose sacrifices had made it possible for thousands of displaced families to return home.

“We must continue to celebrate their gallantry and courage on behalf of a grateful nation,” Tinubu declared.
The President also underscored his administration’s focus on youth empowerment, describing young Nigerians as the country’s “greatest assets.”

He pointed to several initiatives, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which has already assisted more than 500,000 students, and fresh consumer credit schemes Credicorp and YouthCred aimed at giving young people access to loans for housing, vehicles, and digital devices.
Tinubu further highlighted the iDICE programme, which targets startups in technology and the creative industries, revealing that it is nearing full rollout in collaboration with international development partners.
