He stated, “We cannot afford to continue to see judges living in rented houses… By the end of President Tinubu’s first tenure, no judge of the FCT High Court will be living in rented quarters.”

Wike confirmed the administration will deliver 10 duplexes each for the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court, and 20 duplexes for the FCT High Court. He also stressed a major policy change: these homes will not revert to government upon the beneficiaries’ retirement.
Wike confirmed this presidential policy, stating, “When judges retire, they must go home with their houses.”

Furthermore, Wike revealed that the 2025 budget includes provisions for the immediate digitization of the FCT High Court. He has directed the project to commence without delay, ensuring judges have the best working environment.
Wike also issued a firm warning, demanding that contractors complete the residences within 12 months without delays or cost variations.
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, praised the project, emphasizing that it reflects a commitment to strengthening justice delivery and upholding the dignity of the rule of law.
