State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have completely distanced themselves from a court action attempting to stop the party’s upcoming national convention, scheduled for November in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking in Abuja, PDP Chairmen Forum Chairman Tony Aziegbemi, also the Edo State PDP Chairman, condemned the conduct of two members, Austine Nwachukwu (Imo) and Amah Abraham Nnana (Abia), announcing their immediate suspension from the forum

Aziegbemi stated, “We distance ourselves completely from the suit and the plan to use it to stop the PDP from holding its National Convention.”

He affirmed the forum’s solid support for the Umar Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC) and pledged full cooperation for a hitch-free convention.
The Chairmen also called on the NWC to take disciplinary action against any member found to be directly or indirectly connected to the court case.
Aziegbemi added that the party must stand firm to defeat “the evil plot of the APC to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.”
