EKO HOT BLOG reports that the victims were identified as brothers Orgem Ugondo and Aondozungwe Ugondo from the Mbatan kindred in Mbayion, Gboko Local Government Area, and an unidentified woman who was reportedly a passenger on the bike.
According to eyewitness accounts, two Dangote trucks were speeding side by side on the narrow road when one of them, unable to manoeuvre or avoid the motorcycle due to lack of space, rammed into it from behind. The impact left all three victims dead on the spot.
Their bodies were later moved to a mortuary in Agidi, a nearby suburb, while the two trucks involved in the crash were impounded and taken to the Gboko Police Station.
Confirming the incident, the chairman of the Gboko branch of Dantrans, the transport division of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), Adamu Alfa, described the crash as “deeply unfortunate.” He, however, clarified that the trucks were from the Ibese Cement Plant in Ogun State, not the Gboko plant.

Alfa also explained that the company regularly organises safety and road conduct sensitisation programmes for its drivers, adding that investigations into the incident have commenced.
As of the time of filing this report, the female victim had not been identified. She was said to have been given a lift by the two brothers before the fatal crash occurred.
