Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has opened up about her long-standing misunderstanding with fellow artist Tiwa Savage, saying she bears no grudge and is willing to reconcile.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the Right Now crooner made this known during an interview with Saturday Beats of Punch, where she reacted to Tiwa’s recent remarks about their fallout.

Addressing claims that she replaced Tiwa on a Pepsi campaign while the latter was pregnant, Seyi explained that the situation was strictly a corporate decision, not a personal attack.
“That period was purely a brand decision, not a personal one. I have never had any reason to rejoice over another woman’s challenge or misfortune. I deeply respect Tiwa’s journey. She is an exceptional artist and a trailblazer. There’s no bad blood from my end—only admiration for her contribution to the industry,” she said.

Reflecting on their past conflict and the diss track that fueled it, Seyi admitted that both of them were under immense pressure in a demanding and competitive industry. According to her, time and maturity have provided clarity, revealing that communication could have prevented the clash.
“If I could go back, I would choose dialogue over confrontation,” she added.
When asked if she would be open to a meeting with Tiwa to resolve lingering issues, Seyi replied that she would welcome such an opportunity.
“Life is too short to hold on to tension. If having that conversation helps heal narratives and sets a better example for women in music, I’m open to it—whether privately or publicly.

We’ve both evolved, and showing that women can rise above old narratives is a sign of strength,” she said.
The rift between the two singers dates back to 2021 when a video of their confrontation at a Lagos salon went viral. Their fallout reportedly stemmed from a diss track and rumors that Tiwa had blocked opportunities for other female artists.
In a recent chat on OffAir with Gbemi and Toolz, Tiwa clarified that she never sabotaged anyone’s career and noted that although she was hurt by the diss track, she has since moved on.
