Confirming the development, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) said it received a distress call at about 12:20 a.m., with firefighters from the Sari Iganmu Fire Station arriving within minutes to begin operations.
According to the LSFRS Director, Margaret Adeseye, 15 people have been rescued alive — seven men, four women, and four children — all with varying degrees of injury. The victims have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Meta, and the General Hospital, Odan, for treatment.

Preliminary findings revealed that the building had previously been marked as distressed by authorities but was still occupied by residents.
Adeseye said rescue efforts have been difficult due to the area’s dense layout but assured that emergency teams are still searching for survivors.
She assured that LSFRS, in collaboration with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and paramedics, remains fully mobilised on-site to ensure the safe evacuation of all victims.
