The Lagos State Government has empowered over 600 undergraduates with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) skills to help them compete in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative, spearheaded by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Students’ Union Affairs and Tertiary Education, Kappo Olawale, was executed in partnership with Korrekt Tech and the Ministry of Tertiary Education.

The three-week training, held simultaneously at the College of Health Technology, Yaba, Lagos State University of Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu, and Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Otto-Ijanikin, aimed to equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills for real-world applications.

Participants received hands-on training in software testing fundamentals, static techniques, and career guidance for navigating the global tech industry.
Olawale said the initiative aligns with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision of building skilled, innovative, and future-ready students. He described SQA as an essential 21st-century skill needed to empower graduates and ensure inclusivity in a tech-driven economy.
Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Sule Tolani, praised the programme as timely and impactful, noting that ICT competence is now vital across all professions.

Founder of Korrekt Tech, Rudwan Abdulazeez, lauded participants’ enthusiasm and urged investors to support similar initiatives that strengthen Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
Student leaders from LASUSTECH and LASUED commended the state government for its dedication to digital empowerment, describing the training as a transformative step toward improving employability and innovation among young people.
