He noted that COWLSO’s initiatives — ranging from healthcare and education to empowerment programmes — have significantly advanced women’s roles in society.

The governor paid tribute to the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, describing her as the visionary who revived COWLSO during her time as Lagos First Lady. He credited her for establishing the National Women’s Conference, which has become the organisation’s flagship event.
Sanwo-Olu also lauded his wife and current COWLSO chairperson, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, alongside Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat and other executives, for their unwavering commitment to women’s welfare and community service.

Reiterating the conference’s theme, “25 Years of Visionary Legacy: Inspiring the Next Generation,” he said it was a call to model excellence and resilience for future leaders.
In her address, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu described the Silver Jubilee celebration as a tribute to the organisation’s founders, including the late Mrs. Olufunmilayo Johnson and Senator Tinubu.
She reaffirmed COWLSO’s continued dedication to empowering women, promoting family values, and supporting government initiatives through sustainable development programmes.
