The lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency, Rep. Wale Raji, has commissioned a newly constructed, state-of-the-art Divisional Police Headquarters in Epe, built to enhance security operations and improve working conditions for police personnel in the district.
The facility has been officially named after the late AIG Ganiyu Atanda Agbaje (Rtd.), the first indigene of Epe to attain the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking during the commissioning, Rep. Raji explained that the project was inspired by his visit to the old station following a request from the Divisional Police Officer for furniture support.

“The DPO asked me to assist with furniture, but when I got to the station, I was not impressed with what I saw. That was what brought about this project. Our police officers deserve a befitting working environment,” he said.

He commended the Nigeria Police Force in Epe for their dedication to keeping the community safe.
“There used to be cultists terrorising this community, but that is now a thing of the past because our youths are becoming more responsible and useful to the growth of Epe,” he noted, praising the officers for drastically reducing crime incidents in the division.
Rep. Raji emphasised that the project aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening national security under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“This is to support the efforts of Mr President towards making life better for all Nigerians and ensuring we live in a safe and secure environment. Without security, every other aspect of life becomes difficult,” he said.
Paying tribute to the late AIG Agbaje, he described him as a trailblazer whose legacy continues to inspire many in Epe. “AIG Agbaje made Epe proud.
He motivated many of our sons into the police force, and like our national anthem says, the labour of our heroes shall never be in vain,” he remarked, urging youths to emulate his service and discipline.
The DPO of Epe Division, CSP Benjamin Ayeni, also highlighted the impact of the new facility, revealing that crime rates in the last six months have significantly dropped. “Kidnapping and robbery have been curbed.
We are also working on initiatives to address domestic violence by engaging couples and community structures,” he said. He further appreciated religious and traditional leaders for their support in maintaining peace across Epe.
Meanwhile, Rep. Raji announced that the newly built Ayetoro Market will be commissioned this November and allocated to traders free of charge.
He also disclosed that other market projects in Pobo, Iragunshin, Mowowale and additional locations will be completed before the end of the year.
