Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged the people of Anambra State to support the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming November 8 governorship election, describing it as a vital opportunity to end years of poor governance and restore true democratic values
Eko Hot Blog gathered that in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Atiku said the off-cycle election provides Anambra residents with a chance to “open a new chapter” and reject the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he accused of “snatching and running away with the people’s mandate.”

“The election to choose the next governor of Anambra State on November 8 presents a golden opportunity to end the era of ineffective governance,” Atiku stated. “It also ensures that the ruling APC does not get the chance to repeat its habit of manipulating and stealing the people’s will.”

The former vice president urged voters to rally behind Nwosu Chima John and Nwobu Geoffrey Ndubisi, the ADC candidates, stressing that their victory would usher in a “new era of prosperity, peace, and economic stability” in the state.
He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN), to demonstrate fairness and transparency throughout the process, saying the election was an opportunity for the commission to prove it has “turned a new page.”
“The Anambra poll gives INEC the chance to rebuild public trust by ensuring that the integrity of our elections is not compromised for political convenience,” he added.

Atiku further appealed to registered voters in Anambra to come out in large numbers and mobilize support for the ADC, emphasizing that the state has a rich history of political excellence and national leadership.
“Anambra has always played a key role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic progress. I believe Ndi Anambra will once again rise to the occasion by choosing progress, unity, and good governance through the ADC,” he said.
