Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has stated that the 2027 presidential election will effectively be “Tinubu versus Tinubu”, with President Bola Tinubu facing no serious opposition.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Kalu made the comments on Tuesday while speaking to journalists at the National Assembly Complex, comparing the upcoming presidential race to the recent Anambra governorship election, where incumbent Charles Soludo secured re-election with minimal opposition.

“Has he gotten anyone contesting against him? The election is Tinubu vs Tinubu, just like Soludo vs Soludo. The President has no opposition. Our party is fully on ground and with the people,” Kalu said.
The lawmaker emphasised that the All Progressives Congress (APC) enjoys nationwide support and credited President Tinubu’s policies with gradually improving the economy and strengthening security across Nigeria.

Kalu’s remarks signal confidence within the APC that Tinubu’s first term achievements will secure widespread backing in the lead-up to the 2027 election.
