Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has refuted claims that he has abandoned his court case against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or agreed to the party’s planned national convention in Ibadan.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Lamido issued the clarification in a statement posted on his official Facebook page late Friday, insisting the rumours were deliberately fabricated to mislead party members.

Lamido said the false report circulated widely around the convention venue, prompting numerous calls from worried PDP supporters across the country.

He stressed that not only is the report untrue, but the Federal High Court had, earlier on Friday, affirmed his right to vie for the national chairmanship—a right he said was previously denied by the party.
He explained that the same court ruling also ordered the suspension of the PDP national convention slated for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan until the party complies with the judgment.
According to him, the court further restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from supervising or recognising any convention that excludes him.
Lamido confirmed that certified copies of the order stopping the exercise have already been served on both INEC and the PDP.

He also dismissed claims that he instructed his lawyers to withdraw the matter following an alleged meeting with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, branding the story “malicious” and “misleading.”
He urged PDP members and the general public to disregard the rumour, reaffirming his commitment to seeking justice through lawful channels.
Earlier on Friday, Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, ruled that Lamido was wrongly blocked from purchasing nomination forms to contest for national chairman.
The judge held that the PDP failed to adhere to its constitution and internal procedures, which guarantee fair participation for all eligible members.
As part of the consequential orders, the court halted the convention to enable Lamido to obtain the required forms, mobilise his supporters, and legitimately pursue his ambition.
