Commissioner III of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Dr. Olusegun Agbaje, has called on school principals across Epe Division to take firmer leadership roles in managing their schools and ensuring that teachers are effectively deployed to meet the educational goals of the State Government.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr. Agbaje, who represents Epe Division on the TESCOM Board, gave the charge during a monitoring exercise across several post-primary schools in the division.

He said the exercise aligns with TESCOM’s mandate to routinely assess teachers’ activities and evaluate their readiness to deliver quality education.
“This monitoring exercise is part of our responsibility as a Commission to ensure that teachers are fully prepared and committed to their duties,” he said.

He urged teachers—especially the newly recruited ones—to work closely and harmoniously with their principals in fostering a conducive and supportive learning environment.
According to him, creating the right atmosphere for learning requires teamwork and dedication.
“I appeal to our teachers to cooperate with their principals and be good role models to the students under their care,” he added.
Dr. Agbaje also called on school heads to embrace and guide newly employed teachers, noting that they need mentorship as they begin their careers.
“Principals should receive new teachers with open arms. They are new in the system and require encouragement, direction, and proper integration,” he said.
The monitoring team, comprising officers from TESCOM’s Monitoring and Appeal Department, visited seven schools, including Epe Senior Grammar School, Epe Junior Grammar School, Odo-Obara Junior and Senior High Schools, and Okumagba Junior and Senior Grammar Schools.
