Eko Hot Blog reports that the US-drafted plan which has been widely leaked suggests Kyiv may have to give up parts of the Donetsk region still under its control, scale down its military strength, and abandon its NATO aspirations.

These proposals, long rejected by Ukraine, are now back on the table following intense diplomatic engagements involving US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian representative Kirill Dmitriev.
The plan emerged at a delicate moment for Kyiv as Russia claims minor advances in the east and Zelensky battles a domestic scandal involving senior government officials.

Despite concerns that the draft heavily favours Moscow, the Ukrainian leader offered a cautious and diplomatic response in his nightly address, saying American officials had presented their “vision” for ending the war.
Zelensky acknowledged that Ukraine seeks “a real peace that cannot crumble under a future invasion,” while stressing that any agreement must uphold the dignity of the Ukrainian people.
The US, under President Donald Trump, has shifted its posture limiting future military aid and prioritizing a negotiated settlement involving America’s NATO allies.
Details of the leaked proposal include restricting Ukraine’s military to 600,000 troops, positioning European fighter jets in Poland, and offering Kyiv unspecified “security guarantees.”

The draft also hints at reintegrating Russia into the global economy by lifting sanctions and restoring it to the G8.
The White House insists Ukraine was not sidelined in discussions, stating that senior Ukrainian officials were consulted and made modifications before the draft reached Zelensky.
European leaders, however, say they were not involved, warning that no deal can succeed without Europe and Ukraine fully onboard.
Amid ongoing drone and missile attacks from both sides, the path to any agreement remains deeply uncertain.
