Benson-Awoyinka emphasised that the government recognises the importance of meaningful collaboration in strengthening the tourism ecosystem.
“As a government, we understand that meaningful stakeholder collaboration is essential for building a tourism ecosystem that is accessible, attractive, and impactful. Under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, we are committed to providing the enabling environment that supports investment, innovation, and global best standards in this sector,” she said.

She added that the administration is focused on ensuring that the systems and structures supporting tourism are efficient, inclusive, and responsive to the fast-evolving global tourism landscape.
The summit, themed “Unlocking the Potentials and Opportunities of Lagos Tourism: Collaboration and Partnership for a Greater Lagos,” was convened to meet several strategic objectives, including:
- Strengthening partnerships across the tourism, entertainment and hospitality value chain.
- Enhancing service delivery and boosting destination competitiveness.
- Exploring new and sustainable tourism opportunities across the state.
- Harnessing the potential of the tourism, entertainment and creative sectors.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Managing Director of Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), Hon. Abdoulbaq Ladi Balogun, highlighted the agency’s critical role in commerce and tourism, especially ahead of the high-traffic festive period.
He noted that the agency is already preparing to manage holiday movement pressures.
“What we’re looking at is 30 December coping with the pressures and putting things in place to ensure seamless services on the waterways. Beyond this, we have completed more than 31,000 operational hours this year alone, through both scheduled and charter services,” he said.
Also addressing participants, the Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola, assured visitors and residents that the state has strengthened safety measures to guarantee a secure experience throughout the festive season and beyond.
