Oba Ladoja stressed that real economic impact lies more in manufacturing than distribution, noting that industries have greater capacity to create jobs and stimulate long-term prosperity.

He explained that challenges such as unreliable power supply, inadequate water, and poor road networks continue to hinder industrial expansion.
To tackle these issues, he revealed that the Olubadan-in-Council had inaugurated an Economic and Investment Committee to work directly on improving the city’s business environment.
Speaking earlier, the founder of the FMCG Oyo State branch, Alhaja Apeke Tunrayo Adeogun, congratulated the monarch on his enthronement and pledged the association’s readiness to support Ibadan’s economic advancement.

In a similar visit, the Ibadan branch of JAIZ Bank PLC reaffirmed its commitment to the city’s development. Group Head Ismail Arowolo assured the Olubadan that the bank would partner with businesses and residents to strengthen economic activities.
The palace event was attended by several high-ranking chiefs and prominent community leaders, including Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade, Oba Abiodun Azees, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, Mogaji Jelil Adepoju, and Aare Musulumi of Ibadanland, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola.
In a related ceremony, Oba Ladoja urged newly promoted chiefs to view their titles as a duty to serve, emphasizing that modern traditional leadership must prioritize community welfare over ceremonial glamour.
