The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 26 male suspects for alleged involvement in counterfeit currency operations and the production and sale of adulterated diesel in the Eti-Osa and Lekki areas of the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the arrests were carried out on November 27, 2025, at about 1:30 p.m., during a joint operation involving police officers and operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).

According to the Command, a total of ₦951,300 in counterfeit notes was recovered from the suspects’ hideout.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Abubakar Rilean (40), Abubakar Abdullahi (35), Adamu Ibrahim Jora (35) and Michael John (30) were the key figures behind the production and distribution of adulterated diesel, popularly known as “rice and beans.”
Two other suspects, Ichapi Moses (30) and Samson Adike (28), were identified as major suppliers of the illegal petroleum product to unsuspecting motorists.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, cautioned criminals operating within the state to desist, stressing that the Command is intensifying efforts to rid Lagos of crime.
He assured residents that Lagos remains safe, adding that anyone involved in activities capable of threatening public peace, economic stability or the safety of motorists will face the full weight of the law.
Jimoh added that the Command continues to conduct daily raids, show-of-force patrols and convoy operations across Area Commands and Divisions.
He urged residents to provide credible and timely information to assist the police in apprehending criminal elements and sustaining the peace Lagos is known for.
