The Federal Government has assured worried parents and the management of St. Mary’s Private Catholic School, Papiri, Niger State, that the abducted pupils will return safely.

Delivering President Bola Tinubu’s message of hope, Ribadu said the government has intensified security operations and remains fully committed to bringing the children home without harm.

He disclosed that the President has suspended engagements to focus on the crisis, describing the kidnappers as a “common enemy” that Nigerians must unite against to ensure peace prevails.
Ribadu, accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Bernard Doro, and DSS Director General, Oluwatosin Ajayi, commended the resilience of the Bishop and acknowledged international support from the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.

He assured that the school will recover from the ordeal, noting that security will be reinforced in the affected area. Hard copies of the investigation report were also presented before a closed-door meeting with stakeholders.
Parents and school officials, including the Principal, Rev. Sister Felicia Gyang, described their distress as they recounted how the abduction occurred, expressing hope that the children will be reunited with their families soon.
