The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the first phase of its physical voter registration exercise across Yobe State will conclude on December 10.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in Damaturu on Wednesday, explaining that the preliminary voter register will be displayed from December 15 to 21 for claims and objections.

The commission said the display period will allow applicants to correct any personal data errors, including names, wards, and National Identification Numbers. December 21 has been further reserved to address complaints arising from the review exercise.

Abdullahi explained that phase two of the in-person continuous voter registration will resume on January 5, 2026. He noted that the ongoing voter registration began online on August 18 before physical registration commenced a week later on August 25.
He emphasised that updating voter records and producing an accurate register remain core responsibilities of INEC, as mandated under Section 10 of the Electoral Act 2022.
