EKO HOT BLOG reports that the session was led by Senator Sani Bello, who represents Niger North and chairs the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs. He confirmed that Ayodele Oke, one of the nominees, had been cleared of previous allegations.
The nominees screened were Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Ayodele Oke from Oyo State. Their names were earlier forwarded to the Senate in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, ahead of 32 additional nominees recently announced by the Presidency.
In a separate development, former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani commented on why he has never been considered for an ambassadorial role.
Speaking on Arise Television, Sani said his name has never appeared on any official list and attributed it to his age and continued political ambitions.
He said he still has more to contribute to the people of Kaduna State, noting that ambassadorial appointments follow strict procedures, including calls, documentation, vetting, and security screening.
