Epe Local Government has taken another decisive step toward protecting public health as the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, officially launched the Outbreak Response Initiative (ORI) during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Council Secretariat.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the high-level gathering brought together community leaders, religious leaders, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), and dedicated members of the immunization team, all committed to strengthening vaccination coverage and preventing vaccine-preventable diseases across Epe.

In her address, Princess Surah Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s priority on the welfare and safety of residents.
She demonstrated this commitment by providing logistics support, pluses, and transportation stipends to all immunization teams to encourage seamless field operations.
“The health of our people is non-negotiable,” she said. “Immunization saves lives, and I urge all parents, guardians, and caregivers to take advantage of this opportunity.
Let us work together to keep Epe safe, protected, and healthy.”
Speaking further, the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr. Adeleke Awolesi, emphasized that the health department is fully prepared for the operation.
He assured that the initiative would reach every community, stressing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders.
According to him, “every child, every household, and every community in Epe will be reached. Immunization is a shared responsibility, and together we will protect our people.”
Stakeholders at the meeting commended the Chairman’s proactive leadership and pledged stronger advocacy across all wards.
