This year’s edition is themed around honouring the deep-rooted traditions, values, and identity of the Epe Division. It aims to create a platform where students and invited stakeholders can explore the history, beauty, and cultural wealth that define the Epe people.
Speaking ahead of the event, a FEDSA executive Com Ibrahim, highlighted the significance of the annual celebration, noting that it plays a vital role in strengthening the bond between students and their heritage. According to the organiser, “culture is the foundation that binds us as a people, and this event reminds us never to lose touch with who we are.”
Another representative explained that the programme goes beyond entertainment, serving as a channel for cultural education and pride. He stated that “Epe L’Eja Wa gives us a platform to showcase who we are, where we come from, and the values we uphold as sons and daughters of Epe Division.”
The 2025 edition will feature traditional music, dance performances, exhibitions, storytelling sessions, and keynote addresses delivered by notable figures from Epe. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Epe’s historical evolution, its cultural symbols, its festivals, and the unique practices that have shaped the region’s identity.
The association has also encouraged students to attend the event dressed in their finest traditional attires as a symbol of cultural pride and unity. According to organisers, this tradition reflects the spirit of Epe L’Eja Wa, which celebrates diversity within Epe’s shared cultural identity.
In addition, the programme will include refreshments and interactive segments that allow students from different departments and faculties to network, bond, and deepen their appreciation for Epe’s heritage.
The event is expected to draw a large turnout from the university community, traditional stakeholders, and cultural enthusiasts, marking another milestone in FEDSA’s efforts to preserve and promote cultural awareness among the youth.
