Speaking at the event, Dr. Idris emphasised the importance of giving back to one’s community. “Most young people have forgotten their father’s land, which is Epe.
The only time many come home is when they need an indigenous certificate. It is really good to give back to one’s community, and I have chosen to come back home to care for the well-being of Epe people,” he said.
He also highlighted the significance of preventive healthcare, noting that “most people don’t even check themselves until their case worsens,” and encouraged residents to take advantage of the growing number of health facilities in Epe, including the Federal Medical Centre and local health centres.
“Any health challenge detected in time can reduce the risk of terminal diseases,” he added.
Beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude and offered prayers for Dr. Idris’ initiative. Mrs. Kudirat Saliu, a widow who received health checks, medications, food, and clothing, prayed, “May God continue to strengthen and bless Dr. Idris to do more for Epe.”
Mr. Samuel Ojo, an artisan who benefitted from consultations, medications, and food support, said the outreach was “a life-saving opportunity” and prayed, “May God multiply his kindness and grant him long life to keep helping our community.”
Other beneficiaries, including Mrs. Abiodun Oke, a petty trader, Pa Adewale, an elderly farmer, and Miss Funke , a young market vendor, also expressed heartfelt prayers, asking for divine protection, prosperity, and good health for Dr. Idris and his team.
The outreach not only provided essential healthcare but also addressed urgent welfare needs by giving food palliatives and clothing to vulnerable residents, strengthening community solidarity and promoting holistic well-being.
