The president’s warning followed complaints from some lawmakers whose police orderlies were withdrawn without prior notice.

In response, Tinubu tasked the Minister of Interior to immediately deploy Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps personnel to replace withdrawn officers to ensure no VIP is left exposed during the transition.
Tinubu reminded the security chiefs that his earlier directive was prompted by rising cases of kidnapping and violent attacks in several states, insisting that police personnel must be reassigned to strengthen frontline operations nationwide.
He directed the Inspector General of Police, National Security Adviser, DSS and the Ministry of Interior to form a joint committee to overhaul current security deployment structures.

The president stressed that while some public officials genuinely need reinforced protection due to the sensitivity of their duties, the Civil Defence Corps remains fully capable of handling such assignments.
He further ordered the NSA to prioritise the arming and mobilisation of forest guards, describing the move as essential to restoring territorial safety.
Tinubu charged state governors to fast-track the rehabilitation of grazing reserves and develop modern ranching systems to curb recurring clashes between herders and farmers.

He maintained that livestock reforms must transition from conflict triggers to viable economic assets that generate jobs and revenue.
The president concluded that Nigeria’s security architecture must maximize every available personnel and resource, noting that the fight against kidnapping, terrorism and rural banditry demands coordinated and uncompromised commitment.
