The Police Service Commission has announced that recruitment for 50,000 new police constables will begin on December 15.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the PSC confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, noting that the recruitment portal will remain open until January 25, 2026.

According to the commission, the exercise is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to boost community policing and strengthen internal security nationwide. Applicants are expected to submit their forms online via the official portal, www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

The PSC stated that candidates for the general duty cadre must possess O-Level results—GCE, SSCE or NECO—with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics in no more than two sittings.
Those applying for specialist roles require a minimum of four credits, relevant trade certifications, and at least three years of practical experience.
Eligible applicants must be Nigerian by birth, aged between 18 and 25, physically and mentally fit, and meet the specified height requirements for male and female candidates.
