The patrol convoy commenced at dawn from the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, moving through Ojota, Lagos Island and several adjoining communities, projecting a strong security presence throughout the state.
Speaking during the exercise, CP Jimoh said the operation was aimed at boosting public confidence and ensuring residents can celebrate the festive season without fear.
“We are doing this to ensure that Lagos residents have the confidence to know that everything is peaceful in the command,” he said.

According to him, Lagos has recorded a notable decline in crime rates in recent months, a development he attributed to proactive policing strategies and improved inter-agency collaboration.
He disclosed that officers had been strategically stationed at schools, worship centres, public spaces and other vulnerable locations. Security was also heightened around human rights organisations in commemoration of Human Rights Day.
Assuring residents of continued vigilance beyond the holidays, CP Jimoh stressed that the operations were not seasonal but part of a sustained effort to maintain safety and stability across the state.
